getting connected

Many people have expressed an interest in formally joining the membership of DeWitt Community Church and have asked for a clear definition of what membership means. There are three steps in the membership process. The first is Starting Point. Membership Gatherings are the second step. The third and final step is an official welcome and new member reception.

1.  Starting Point

If you are new to DCC or interested in finding out more about the ministries of the church, please join us for “Starting Point.” This is an informal time following the 10:45am service where you can hear about the vision of the church, get an overview of our ministries, and ask questions.

Starting Point sessions last about 15 to 20 minutes and children are welcome to attend. There is no commitment, just an opportunity to meet some of our pastors and staff and become better acquainted with the church. Feel free to grab some refreshments in the parlor and join us next door in the Library.

Next Starting Point session:

Sunday, May 6
12:00 PM (following 10:45 AM Worship)
Church Library

2.  Membership Gatherings

The gatherings start with either a light dinner or continental breakfast, and then we devote the rest of the time to looking at what we believe as a church and the role of members.  Attending a Membership Gathering is required for Church membership, but it may be attended for informational purposes only – with no pressure to join.

Next Membership Gatherings:

Thursday, May 17, 5:30-7:30 PM   or    Saturday, May 19, 8:30-10:30 AM
To RSVP:
Contact the Church Office at (315)445-0331 or e-mail

3.  New Member Reception

As the final step, new members are officially welcomed and introduced to the congregation at the service they most frequently attend.  After the service there is a reception for new members where people can greet and welcome our new members.
