Call for Baby Booties
We are reinstating the tradition of giving a pair of booties to newborns in the church. Thanks to Angela Todisco, there are a few pair available, but we could use some more. If you are interested in knitting or crocheting booties, patterns are available. Contact Kay Paulsen for more information at 445-0331, ext160, paulsenk@dewittchurch.org
Prayer Ministry
In the past year, the prayer chain has seen some remarkable answers to prayer. Even if you are not able to get out much, one thing you can do is pray for the needs of others. If you are interested in becoming a member of the prayer chain, contact Kay Paulsen at 445-0331, ext160, paulsenk@dewittchurch.org
Stephen Ministry Training
The Stephen Series is a complete system for training and organizing lay people to provide one-to-one Christian care to hurting people in and around a church congregation. The Stephen Series provides congregations with the structure, training, and resources to set up and administer a complete system for lay caring ministry, called Stephen Ministry, in the congregation.
In Stephen Ministry congregations, lay caregivers, called Stephen Ministers, provide one-to-one Christian care to the bereaved, hospitalized, terminally ill, separated, divorced, unemployed, relocated, and others facing a crisis or life challenge. Stephen Ministry helps pastors and congregations provide quality caring ministry for as long as people need it.
DeWitt Community Church has partnered with University United Methodist Church to offer Stephen Ministry Training and ongoing supervision. Two of our congregation members, Kim Opgenorth and Jean Pellegrino, were commissioned as Stephen Ministers in May and Ron Buchannan and Kay Paulsen came to DCC with training.
Now that we are officially a Stephen Ministry congregation, beginning in October we will be offering Stephen Minister Training. The training is a total of 50 hours and will take place on the 2nd and 4th Tuesday of the month. There will be two Friday/Saturday retreats as well.
If you are interested in considering being trained as a Stephen Minister, contact Kay Paulsen at 445-0331, ext160, paulsenk@dewittchurch.org You can find more detailed information on Stephen Ministry at, http://www.stephenministries.org/
If you or someone you know is in need of care from a Stephen Minister, please contact Dr. Kay Paulsen, Director of Congregational Care and Compassion Ministry, 445-0331, ext160, paulsenk@dewittchurch.org

The group has begun to meet regularly to prepare casseroles to keep in the freezer at church for times of emergency when no one has time to cook.
