Young Life has spent over 20 years in Syracuse reaching out to at-risk high school boys and girls in the FM, Cazenovia, Chittenango and JD school districts. By spending time with kids on their own turf and meeting them where they are at, we “win the right to be heard” and establish friendships with high school kids. Through the principles of adventure, acceptance, and extravagant love, we show kids what it means to know, understand, and be loved by God. The JD branch is headed up by our very own Paul Coir, and he looks forward to continuing to reach out to JD kids and be a part of that community.
How can we at DCC help? Sponsor volunteer projects, donate professional skills at their medical or legal clinics, volunteer at Peace Camp (a week long day camp for kids under 10 years old held during the February school break), assist at a pancake breakfast or coffee and donuts on Tuesdays, and contribute financially.
