Weddings at DeWitt Community Church
The Celebration of Marriage
Preparing and planning for your wedding day is one of the most important events in your life. Your wedding at DeWitt Community Church is essentially a worship service reflecting the loving commitment that you make to each other before God, your family and friends. The ministers and staff of DCC are dedicated to helping you plan a wedding day that fulfills your dreams and embodies a beautiful beginning of your life together.
Visiting the Church
Many couples have never been inside our church and we welcome the opportunity to show you our beautiful, air-conditioned sanctuary and the rooms that are reserved for you on your wedding day. The sanctuary has a 75-foot center aisle (with 22 rows of pews on the main floor, and 8 additional rows of fixed pews in the balcony) and can seat up to 700 guests. Please call one of our dedicated Wedding Registration Assistants in the church office at (315) 445-0331 on Mondays or Thursdays between 11:00am and 3:00pm, or e-mail us at office@dewittchurch.org to schedule a convenient time to visit.
Scheduling Your Wedding
You may schedule your wedding by contacting a Wedding Registration Assistant by phone (445-0331) or in person at the church office, between 11:00am and 3:00pm any Mondays or Thursdays. You may also e-mail any questions to: office@dewittchurch.org. We offer weddings on Saturdays at 11:00am, 2:00pm, 4:30pm and 7:00pm. Friday and Sunday weddings are also possible depending on sanctuary and staff availability. The rehearsal for your wedding usually takes place the evening before the wedding and will be scheduled when you select your wedding date.
Fees
The total cost of your wedding is $500. A non refundable deposit of $100 is due two weeks after scheduling your wedding, with the $400 balance due two weeks before your wedding date.
Planning Your Ceremony
You will be scheduled to meet with the minister 2-3 months before your wedding. This meeting will give you the opportunity to get acquainted and discuss and plan the content of your wedding ceremony.
Your Wedding Music
We encourage all couples to contact our organist, Dennis Triggs, to discuss and plan the music for your wedding. Dennis is happy to answer any musical questions and fulfill your requests whenever possible. You may reach Dennis at (315) 446-8645 or at ddtriggs@twcny.rr.com
Your Marriage License
You may apply for your marriage license at any town or city clerkâs office in New York State. Your license is valid for 60 days beginning the day after it is issued. The ceremony may not take place within 24 hours from the exact time that the license was issued.
After Your Wedding
Our commitment to you does not end once your wedding has taken place. We encourage you to keep in touch with us if you ever need our prayers, support or ministerial services. Thank you for the privilege of performing your marriage ceremony!
